Course Description
Every State and Territory in Australia has in place an Occupational Health and Safety Act (OH&S) or have adopted the new Work Health and Safety Act 2011, which aims to protect the health, safety and welfare of people at work. In these Acts, it is clearly stated that there is a duty of care to ensure workplace safety.
In broad terms each State and Territory embraces the OHS and WHS Acts and specifically includes the following: OHS Act 2000 “Employers must provide information, instruction, training and supervision necessary to ensure the health and safety of employees at work.’

What You'll Get
When you pass your EWPA Yellow Card course, you will get a licence for the following machine types. These three machine types are included in our price for no extra cost.
- Scissor Lift (SL) (No Height Restriction)
- Vertical Lift (SL) (No Height Restriction)
- Boom Lift (SL) (Under 11 Meters)

- Appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Safety shoes or boots
- Proof Of Identity (Drivers License or Passport)

You'll Learn How To
- Plan work – Identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures
- Conduct routine checks – Check logbook, EWP structural integrity, safety and communication equipment
- Set up – Check ground suitability, apply appropriate hazard prevention/control measures
- Operate EWP – Use relevant plant movements, use best mobile practice and respond to unplanned/unsafe situations, use of riggers and stabilisers
- Shut down – Correctly stow EWP and safety equipment, conduct routine post-operational checks, clean up Workplace
Prerequisites
- This training program has no pre-requisite units. However delegates should have an understanding of the English language.
- Participants should be 18 years of age. Operating restrictions apply for those under 18 years of age.
- Must provide Drivers Licence or other photo Identification which contains Photo, Date of Birth and Signature. (see ID list over page)
- Basic English, literacy and numeracy skills at a level sufficient to read and interpret workplace documentation and carry out basic mathematical calculations
